China warns against force as North Korea prepares celebration

With a U.S. aircraft carrier group steaming to the area and tension rising, South Korea said it believed the United States would consult it before any pre-emptive strike against the North.
US boy, 8, on joy ride for a cheeseburger
Talk about a craving: an eight-year-old American boy drove his father's van to a McDonald's because he just had to have a cheeseburger. The Ohio boy said he learned to drive by watching YouTube videos, the Weirton Daily Times reported on Sunday evening's adventure. The child, at the wheel with his four-year-old sister riding shotgun, drove for about a mile and a half, stopping at red lights and letting traffic pass before he executed a left turn into the McDonald's in the town of East Palestine in eastern Ohio, the paper said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States and China struck what appeared to be an unusual bargain Wednesday as President Donald Trump said he won't label China a currency manipulator and voiced confidence Chinese President Xi Jinping will help him deal with North Korea's mounting threat.
